The Bolzano Institutional Archive (BIA) is the platform for the dissemination of the research outcomes of the research community of unibz, EURAC Research and Laimburg Research Centre.
Researchers do not need to enter any additional data to have their records indexed, as all content in BIA is taken from BoRIS (Bolzano Research Information System), Converis used at EURAC Research and from LaRis, the research information system of the Laimburg Research Centre, after formal validation by library staff.
With the help of BIA, a central access point for all research results will be created to reduce fragmentation. It will also increase visibility and impact in both academic aggregators and general search engines. Furthermore, the durability of digital materials and citability over time is improved (through the use of Handle Persistent Identifiers, which are much more stable than normal URLs).
